There is a correlation between happiness and the amount that a customer will pay.  Happy people spend more money (1).  You cannot help but feel happy when someone is truly passionate about something.  Passion is not judging, arrogant or off putting in any way.  When a person is truly excited about a wine you can understand.  You do not have to like the wine, but, if you have not tasted it, you probably want to.
